Maha - Shramdan - An initiative of Paani Foundation
Maha-Shramdan, a Paani Foundation initiative was taken forward by Tata Power and POWERCON at Khandke, Maharashtra, India.
To battle against water scarcity in the drought-prone region, more than 450 farmers, SHG women, doctors, teachers, Anganwadi worker's, army soldiers, ex-servicemen, govt staff, employees, etc. served the noble cause
Participants built canals in 135 sq.m area which would raise the underground water level.
As per PAANI Foundation, this process would help in conserving almost 6.75 lakh ltr of rainwater in 1 year.
