Pune, India 2016: BaxEnergy has recently entered into a joint venture with Powercon. This represents a very important step forward for the two companies, which can now offer a combination of the best software solutions and highly specialized engineering services available in the Indian market.
The new headquarters of Powercon – BaxEnergy was inaugurated on the 27thSeptember 2015 in Pune, one of the first most populous cities in India, and it is equipped with a full-scale monitoring and control room based on Energy Studio Pro®. Representatives of the Indian Government’s and board-members of the most notable indipendent power producers (IPPs) in India have attended the inauguration ceremony.
Powercon is the first Indian Renewable Energy Asset Management Company that provides a complete Operation and Maintenance (O&M) service for solar and wind power plant, with ten years of experience in this field. Praveen Kakulte, Powercon CEO and Renewable Energy Technologist, said “We have grown a generation of engineers that have contributed to the wind energy inception in India. Thanks to the new Joint Venture, Powercon assumes an important technical and commercial responsibility in India, including making installations, monitoring the customer’s power plants from its headquarters, and taking actions on site when needed to restore full functionalities in all the power plants. The Powercon-BaxEnergy Studio in Pune enables to visualize, analyze and independently control the power plants in India, ensuring their efficiency and longevity.
Mr. Kakulte added “We are very proud of our new monitoring room with its 262 MW of power plants connected in the first six months of activities. The Indian Government Investment Plan in the renewable energy market is very aggressive. The Government wants to extend the access to the energy because 7.5 million households are still living without electricity and our ambition is making the electricity available for a large population’s slide resident in the inland areas”. According to a research by NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) on “Climate change and clean energy”, India is aiming at produce more solar energy than any other country in the world.
The Indian Government is definitely resolved about the idea to concretely realize a clean energy economy and convinced that renewable energy can drive the economic development in all corners of the Country. The Prime Minister Modi, has recently announced “India is going to catch 100GW of solar power by 2022, and the achievement of this goal will create one million of employment, greatly improving the energy access to Indian citizens who live in villages and countryside. The other challenge of reaching 60GW of wind power by the same year would also generate at least 180.000 jobs. These next purposes will bring to pass our dream: making India the most competitive one reality in the world in this sector”.
